Sometimes I just wonder why on Earth a movie
is even made. I mean, what were the people who
funded the movie thinking? I think the movie is
supposed to be funny, but I am not sure. Then
again, it might be serious, but maybe not. There
seems to be no point, but is there?
There are the Scottish parents, seriously
messed up, who are so weird it just doesn't make
any sense. Harriet is a butcher, and she's also
an axe murderer. She's very insane, but the main
character, Charlie, is determined to make the
relationship work in spite of everything. You
see, he's tried many different women, and always
finds something wrong, an excuse to break up.
He's become convinced the reasons are in his
mind, and thus ignores, at first, the signs that
his new girlfriend is not what she seems.
Mike Meyers, normally a reasonably funny guy,
plays both the father and the son. He does
improv in the film, and it is totally out of
place. The jokes are stale and forced, and the
comedy is about as low and stupid as I've seen.
I don't have much more to say about this
movie, as there is absolutely nothing good to
say about it. This video isn't even worth the
rental fee. |
