The previews make this movie look pretty
good. They show action, humor, plot and Harrison
Ford. In fact, the previews looked so good that
I was actually looking forward to seeing this
film. After all, anything with Harrison Ford
can't be bad, can it?
I guess that even the best of the best actors
must make a bad movie occasionally, and this
movie is worse than bad - it really stinks. I've
only walked out of a few movies in my life, and
this is one of them.
Harrison plays a cop with lots of things on
his mind. He's got three ex-wives, a second
business as a real-estate agent and, apparently,
someone in the police department who is holding
a grudge and looking for revenge. His partner
has just as many things going on - he teaches
Yoga and wants to become an actor.
In fact, these two seem to do many different
things all of the time - except entertain the
audience. I found myself hoping that the good
guys would be killed or something. That's how
bad it was.
Most annoying was the cell phones. The
characters kept getting phone calls totally
unrelated to their duties throughout the movie.
It was very annoying when time after time a
conversation would be interrupted so that
Harrison's character could take a call about his
real estate deals.
I had no sympathy for any of the characters
(good or bad), the acting was so poor as to be
shameful, the plot was boring, uninteresting
and, well, just plain silly, and the pacing was
slow and wooden. There is nothing at all to
recommend, absolutely nothing, unless you want
to see one of Harrison's rare (to my knowledge
only) bad performances in a bad movie. Don't
even wait for the video - just avoid this junk. |
